COW Vintage

WE ARE COW (http://wearecow.com) recently asked me to do a shoot with them in Manchester for their website/lookbook! I was super super excited as I love shopping in COW so of course I immediately accepted the offer & it was a huge pleasure of mine to do it!

I took the train to Manchester & we began the day in the back office of the shop - it was incredible! I've always loved browsing the shop, but through the back doors and down the stairs was rails and rails of more beautiful vintage and reworked clothes hidden away - I felt like I was in heaven! A rail of clothes was awaiting me which had been picked out by the stylists & interns and along with the back-stock of clothes, accessories and shoes to browse through, I was in my own little world! We did a few shots in the studio, before heading through the backstreets of the northern quarter, stopping for lunch at common bar & exploring the rooftop of Shudehill bus station - which had an incredible view of Manchester (it was great, till we got shooed away by security!) Overall it was a really fun day & we got some great shots thanks to Richard - http://richardmanningphotography.co.uk

More looks & pictures to come!

All clothing pictured is from COW Vintage

Alex Alexander

I recently shot with Alex Alexander on location at Tatton Park.
He shoots only on medium format film, which I think looks so much more authentic!
Check out more of his work Alex Alexander Photography

We didn't have much of a plan for the shoot but we had met up prior to discuss ideas. One of Alex's favourite photographers is Jeanloup Sieff who has a very classic french style to his photos. He also introduced me to the feaverish photography blog which I have now become quite obsessed with!

Andy Golpys - When soul meets body

So it's been a little while but decided it was time for a new look on lookbook. I realised when it came to picking apart the outfit that every single item was from Topshop - how boring of me. But to be honest, I adore Topshop and it does some great fashion at high street prices so I really can't complain! (Lattice Braet £32, Pale brown Hareems £38, Swallow lattice wedges £68 - all from Topshop)

We Are Dip Dye Queens

My friend Ema visited me in Liverpool this weekend all the way from London. Amongst, our activities we did a bit of hair dying and she helped me dip-dye my virgin hairturquoise! I've never dyed my hair before, and because it's so dark I had to bleach it (lots) first.

Equipt with bleaching powder, peroxide and plenty of foil we proceeded to section my hair as Ema painted on the gloopy blue mixture, eventually my tips turned blonde (well, yellow..) after a lengthy process of waiting, heating, and washing I added the turquoise dye. Unfortunately this dye is only semi permanent, I used DIRECTIONS dye which comes in a selection of colours (pictured above) so I'll have to keep topping up (before my hair goes green) but it comes out a beautiful bright turquoise colour on first application! You can buy it either offline or from hair shops such as Paul's hair world or in more alternative places like Aflex Palace.

I don't know what my mum will make of it but I love it! It's super long at the moment, and frankly a bit of a mess but I don't care. I feel like a mermaid.
